Thank you for the gift card donations. Yes, we are still collecting them for the family. Also, several asked Janet if they could contribute cash. Janet said she would be happy to go to store and purchase the grocery gift cards if you preferred to donate cash.

DreamboxLorrie sent a google doc survey concerning Dreambox. Please make certain you completed the survey. We want to schedule our professional development with the trainer as soon as possible.
What is the difference between monitoring progress and Progress monitoring?
Monitoring progress is what you do each day. It's a quick assessment of core classroom instruction. Progress Monitoring is the 1 minute "check up"/"probe" of an intervention being implemented on the most foundational skill. Think of it this way...if we were training for a triathlon, and we knew running was our weakest area, how would we monitor our progress? We would create a plan and monitor our progress during our workout. Then one day each week, we would put our work to the test with a "time trial"/ "progress monitor". After reviewing the data we decide, if our running plan is working and either continue with our plan or make a revision if necessary based on the "time trials".

Transportation Information
BusesIt appears our buses have settled into a pattern. Our last bus is leaving the campus at between 4:20 - 4:30. Please remember to let the office know WHO on your grade level is keeping the students for late buses. Thank you to the grade levels who have kept us informed. It does make a difference.CARPOOL:
I am so proud of our Kindergarten and First grade students! They know their carpool numbers as soon a they are called. Well...as soon as they can hear them being called. Second and third grade students are random but our fourth and fifth grade students. I continue to be amazed they do not know their numbers. Let me know if we need to tag their backpacks to help them out.
Updates:
Copiers:The copiers have had the "Repair Needed" sign on them frequently lately. Unfortunately, if we are not told there is a problem, we don't know to follow up with a phone call to the repairman. We have also noted, that when we do check the copiers don't need to be repaired, they are jammed. Before placing the sign on the machine, PLEASE follow the steps on the copier, checking all the little areas it tells you about, and remove any papers which might be "stuck" in the copier. Thank you for taking care of this. We might cut down on the amount of time the copiers appear to be "broken", and find more time in our day.

Benefits Staff Meeting: November 5 at 8:00 AM
We will have a Staff Meeting on Monday, November 5 at 8:00 AM, for the purpose of being made aware of benefits offered to employees. I tried to schedule the meeting on a track in day, but was unsuccessful. If you are tracked out, no worries. I am working with the representatives to be available to meet with individual staff members later in the week or following week.
