SIP: Did you notice?
Did you notice our SIP bulletin board? It's a quick reference for our Mission,Vision, Values/Core Beliefs. All the committees and meeting dates are posted. What is the purpose of the board? All of us are accountable to our SIP goals. We are becoming more involved in the work of our school and continuing our journey from "great to greater"! By being visible, we are also letting our community know of the plan that guides our school in many of our decisions, and our focused path. Check it out! Our students are already asking questions about the board! Also, check out the SIP website! Everything will be posted there so all of us along with parents can stay informed. Thank you Heather for getting the board up and making the QR code!Students of Military Families
Please send out the letter placed in your mailbox this week in your Friday folders, concerning Students of Military Families. Our Social WOrker, Niti Wade will provide you with the instruction for collection of information and next steps. Thank you for your help as we complete this information for WCPSS.
Case 21
We will begin our Case 21 assessments the first week of October. Kathy Evans will be our Case 21 coordinator this year. We do not need proctors for Case 21, but it is a school-wide effort. Students who receive accommodations for EOGs, or assessments in the classroom as identified by an IEP, also have to have them on any assessment. This means our special educations CCR teacher assistants, and other resource teachers will assist in meeting the needs of the small groups. Kathy will place the Teacher Booklets in the mailboxes this week.Below are the Fall dates for Case 21 for all tracks:
Tuesday, October 2 Reading Tracks 1, 2 and 3
Wednesday, October 3 Math-Calculator Active Tracks 1, 2 and 3
Thursday, October 4 Math-Calculator Inactive Tracks 1, 2, and 3
Internet Safety
I received information last week concerning internet safety. Per Board Policy Board Policy 2313/3013/4013 and the 21st Century Act (Public Law No: 110:385, Oct. 10, 2008) all students will be trained annually in Internet safety. Below is the link for internet safetyhttp://www2.wcpss.net/departments/technology/is/safety/index.htmInternet Safety
The steps for Board compliance for teachers/administrators are as follows:
Each staff member must begin with the PowerPoint. There is a narrated PowerPoint and one without narration to provide greater flexibility for principals.
2 After completing, users will open CommonSense Media (links on page)
3. Each teacher self registers
4. Teachers move through the lessons
5. Each teacher prints out Action Plan and Certificate
6. Teacher gives the Action Plan and Certificate to principal.
The training needs to be completed by OCTOBER. :)
